October 22, 2025 – Main Stage Rehearsal Studios once again became the heartbeat of Hamilton’s live music scene as we hosted our Open Mic Networking Night for local musicians. From full bands and rappers to solo acoustic performers, the evening brought together eighteen musicians of all styles and skill levels.
This wasn’t just another open mic. It was a Hamilton music industry event designed to connect, inspire, and celebrate the people behind our city’s creative community. A special thank you goes out to the incredible artists who joined us from Toronto and London, and to retired bassist Jeffy, who decided to join us to reignite his love for music.
A Professional Open Mic for Musicians
Unlike open mics hosted at bars or restaurants that focus on entertaining customers, Main Stage’s open mic was created for musicians themselves. It’s a space for artists to perform, connect, and grow in a studio-quality environment built for creativity, not consumption.
Here, performers get to introduce who they are, share what they’re looking for in a band, and receive meaningful feedback from other musicians. Their music is appreciated by a real community of peers who understand the craft. Our goal is to spark new collaborations and help each artist move further along their creative journey.
Recording Live Off the Floor
To make recording more accessible, artists had the opportunity to record their sets live off the floor for only $25, capturing multitrack audio in a professional studio while performing in front of a supportive audience. Each recording included a short personal introduction and the sound of real crowd energy, perfect for sharing online or using as a demo.
We hope these recordings help musicians better understand their sound and inspire them to refine their craft even further.
Networking Made Fun
We added a creative twist to networking with our Musician Networking Bingo. Participants were encouraged to meet guitarists, bassists, drummers, singers, and other creatives to fill out their bingo card. It was inspiring to see almost everyone join in, and congratulations to Kyle Deluca, who completed their card and won free studio time for their next project at Main Stage.
